Macaroon memories.

Macaro(o)ns. Upon seeing these trays, my youngest sister instantly uttered: “Oh Tate, macarons.” To which, I’d fondly bake for them during summer and regular weekends. One of our favorite baked treats that is soft, chewy, chock-full of desiccated coconut cookie, typically combined with eggs and sweetened condensed milk. A recipe I actually owed from our Tita Amy.

At some times, I’d also bake for them chocolate chip cookies, angel cake and chocolate crinkles — when the younger siblings would excitedly wait for the cookie dough to be finished and happily volunteer to roll each ball in confectioners sugar and evenly coat.

Sweet treats that totes sweet smiles of little siblings that each time recalled, brings me sweet memories of our youth.
