Memphis

Memphis served as the capital of ancient Egypt during the Old Kingdom. It was the home of many pharaohs and it remained an essential city throughout history, until its demise around the time of the rise of Christianity after the first century A.D.

Flashback to when I had to set our alarm clock to 4ish a.m. to read and memorize stories of the world’s past for long quizzes and reporting. Early morning reads were believed to be effective to the brain for memory techniques. When the alarm was skipped or everything won’t get finished, I’d extend reading on jeepney rides on a used to be 1-hr trip to school (rough roads back then). One reason I am myopic for more than 2 decades now. If only world was within reach during those times or easier this way, I mean, for actual discoveries. Making the most of it at the moment.
